June Associaton Meeting Canceled
COVID-19 pandemic has adversely
affected our airpark, our state, our country, and the whole world and has resulted in
restrictions being placed on all South Carolinians by executive order of South
Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. Consequently, Gilbert Intenational
Airpark Association decided to cancel it's scheduled Sunday, June 14th
association meeting due to COVID-19 concerns. Thus, business reports were
distributed to association members via email in lieu of a meeting.
Fortunately, Governor McMaster has recently relaxed COVID-19 restrictions and allowed most businesses and organizations to open/operate WITH PRECAUTIONS, so hopefully we'll be able to hold our next scheduled meeting on November 13th, 2020 as planned. The decision regarding a fly-in this year has been postponed until sometime in September. The Board recommended that the same nominating committee which served in 2019 also serve again in 2020. Those of you on that committee will be contacted prior to the November meeting for 2021 officers. Hopefully, a vaccine can be discovered soon so that we can all return to some semblance of normalcy. Meantime. please be safe and take the precautions listed on the SC Department of Health & Environmental Control (SCDHEC) website, which you can find by clicking on the "aviation social distancing" image above.
